Swarm traps and decoy hornet nests that deter infestations in and around your home.

Hey there, the Asheville Bee Guy here...
Spring is around the corner! And with spring comes honeybee swarms! If you have had honeybees inside your house, statistics show they are likely to find another entrance.
Instead, I have a solution. Trapping honeybee swarms gives bees a higher chance of survival being cared for by a conscious beekeeper, who can treat for mites and other pests that threaten their survival.
I have swarm traps that I can easily install on your house to give them an alternative to finding a home somewhere inside your house again. This is a low-cost way of deterring the bees from establishing in your house and needing to be removed. (But if you know of someone who has honeybees in their home and needs a honeybee removal, let me know and I can help!)
Setting swarm traps is something that we as beekeepers really need the community to do. The swarm trap that I install on the outside of your house provides an attractive place for them to call home. When you see activity, call me! From this trap, they are easily transported to an appropriate hive in my apiary, surrounded by wildflowers, loving care, and fresh water.
This benefits the community, the homeowner, and the beekeeper. The benefit to the community is a stronger honeybee population throughout WNC. The homeowner is protected from honeybees finding a tricky place in your actual house that needs professional honeybee removal. The swarm traps benefit the beekeeper by providing bees for the apiary.
Projects of mine that these swarms will benefit this year include medicinal grade bee products for apitherapy, Hives for Heroes beekeeping with veterans, and establishing a beekeeping program in the prisons.
The equipment and the installation of the swarm trap costs $200 with no further expense. I'll install them and when you see honeybees, contact me and I'll collect the bees and hang a fresh trap. Installation best dates are March 2-14th, as they do best to be in place before the swarm season begins, but honeybees swarm throughout the season too.
See the below video for an example of how the swarm trap works!
If you have had wasps or hornets in and around your house--here is a protection for that problem too!
I can hang these decoy hornet nests which deter wasps and hornets from infesting your space for $50 for 2 decoys. Or you can hang them yourself for $12 a piece. I'll hand deliver them to your house (local to WNC).

You are helping save the honeybees by hanging decoy nests too! The wasps and hornets hunt the bees, thereby giving them yet another obstacle.
You are also helping the honeybees by opting to hang a swarm trap on or around your home too. When you see bees find it, call me and I'll come escort them to a suitable hive for care and maintenance.
So, be safe, be happy, and call the Bee Guy!
